I've been having a blast during my "Summer of Art" - just a little celebration I invented for the days when the humidity is 83% and just the THOUGHT of venturing outside is unpleasant.
In a previous post, I introduced my Hobonichi Techo (a planner from Japan with luscious paper for art journaling). Since it arrived in mid-April, the Hobo has become my constant companion (along with some furry friends) and illustrated diary.
Turns out, it's fun and educational to "draw your days". For one thing, journaling about daily life compels one to sketch all manner of mundane items and events. If you want to improve your drawing, coloring, painting, and lettering skills, give it a try!
Here are some pages from May.
I lead a small life but .... it will be nice to have something to read later in the nursing home!
It's been fun documenting our little foster kitten's development.
The only downside so far with art journaling is that it leaves little time for digital art. But I'll get back to it one day, I'm sure.
Thanks for stopping by!
