Art Journaling

Recently I've returned to art journaling.

I was intrigued by all the fuss about keeping a Gratitude Journal.

So I began jotting down (mostly small) things in my life for which I am grateful.  Well, after a month, I can testify the process is rather like a magic pill!  Daily thoughts about how good life is right now have become pervasive throughout the day and the results are noticeable.

It's a practice I want to continue.

The journal space here is behind the 'tip-in' of my drawing on the right.

Of course, I had to begin making my own journal pages.  Here are a few that I have done up in advance so they are ready for journaling.

Scribbling, doodling, drawing, collage, getting messy with paint, inks, stamps, and washi tape - anything goes.

As long as it's fun!

  1. Fun, indeed! Life itself is FUN!

    Virtual hugs,

  2. I just found this post! Wow, this looks like fun, and challenging, too. I'm so impressed. I wanted to do something special with the Notebook I got from your Empty Attic Art Shop - not grocery lists. I wonder if I could use that to do THIS? Or if I'd need thicker paper? I have the lined notebook, but that would still work, I think.

I love the idea of prepping some pages for future gratitude notes. I've started journaling about the best things happening each day, but always drop off. When I start up again, I always thing it would be really neat to look back in a year or two or three and see what was making me happiest back-in-the-day. Even more fun to see the artwork on each page.

    Thanks for posting this. :)
