For this week's Sunday Postcard Art Challenge - eggs.

By way of explanation, I'm a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner who worked in reproductive health for many years.

For me, these are eggs.

The theme at Take a Word this week is happiness.

This is a hippy dippy happy. Like we were in the 70's.

Ginza Girls Take a Hike

How do they end up in these locations?

And why don't they have any arms?

Paper Puzzle

My favorite form of newspaper print - the New York Times crossword.

For the print challenge at the Three Muses.

Regal and Royal was the theme this week at The Three Muses. It sounded like fun and it was!

I tried to find the source of the quote, but s/he is 'unknown'.

Eager to see what you all come up with!

Ginza Girls

Some time ago as I was messing around with images, out popped The Ginza Girls - a couple of snarky women who amble about, usually caught in mid-conversation.

This is the first work featuring the girls (created for a digital challenge). Since their first appearance, the pair have taken on a life of their own.

I enjoyed them so much, I started a series.  Here they are strolling the Ginza.

(Note: the words are from an actual bar sign that my brother-in-law spied on a street in Hong Kong).

Stay tuned for more Ginza Girl adventures!

Endless Summer

Seashells was the theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art.

Nothing was really working with this piece until I began to channel a 1970's poster. Then it was playtime!

Love it when that happens!

ICAD Challenge

It's been such fun participating in ICAD 2016.  That's the Index-Card-A-Day challenge on Facebook.

Over 61 days participants are given weekly themes and daily prompts. For example, watercolor pencil (theme) and baseball (prompt). This has proven an effective way to provide more practice in my budding mixed-media art skills. And seeing work from other artists has proven enlightening and inspiring.

These are my ICADs for the first 30 days of the challenge, June 1 - 30.
