I wanted to convey what the nights at sea might have been like before she met her fate. Of course, had the skies been this bright, the icebergs would have been easily spotted.
Funny that the composition didn't really come together until I layered on an iceberg photo that was taken the day after the collision. Though not known whether this was THE iceberg, the speculation is that it most likely was.
I've been dying to show off this lovely lady since scanning her from a 1920's Japanese advertising catalog. I'm glad I waited, as this was the perfect challenge for her! Don't you love it when your characters let you know when they are ready to appear?
